Chitwan National Park

Jungle safari in Chitwan national park is a great opportunity to spot single horned Asiatic rhinoceros and Bengal tiger in the lush jungle of Chitwan.  Elephant Jungle safari is widely opted here. Stretched to an area of 932 sq. km. of sub-tropical lowland jungle is designated and protected  as a Chitwan national park. The park lies in the central southern Terai region, extending over 4 districts,  Chitwan, Nawalparasi, Parsa and Makwanpur. Geographically it lies in a foothill of Siwalik region, sandwiched between  was was established in 1973 as the first national park in Nepal. It was enlisted as a world heritage site in Narayani and Rapti rivers to the north and Reu river and Indian river in the south. The park was designated as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1984 for the unique ecosystem and rich biodiversity of this region.

The park is home to the 600 plant species, 50mammals, 526 birds, 49 amphibians. Thus, the park has provided a suitable reservation for the endangered species- One Horned Rhinoceros, Gaur, Royal Bengal Tiger, Wild Elephant, Four horned Antelope, Pangolin, Golden Monitor lizard, Python etc. Birds include Bengal Florican, Giant Hornbill, Black Stork, White Stork etc. Also, the park also comprises a wetland like Beeshazar and associated lakes of great importance within the buffer zone which  were designated under the Ramsar Convention.Most of our jungle itineraries include a stay at a lodge within the park of which there are only six. The accommodation is normally in double thatch cottage style rooms. A typical package is based on a two nights / three days stay. Along, with Jungle safari you can include various activities like Canoeing on the Rapti River, Narayani river, Jungle walk, jeep safari, elephant bath and many more.As well as the Tharu cultural show of the Chitwan every evening is the great attractions of Chitwan tour for every visitors.

 

Itinerary:

 Day 01:

Arrival service from Kathmandu Airport & transfer to hotel. If time permits, we visit Kathmandu Durbar in the evening & stay overnight at hotel. 

Day 02:

Fly or drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan National Park, which takes about five hours drive and 20 minute by flight. After lunch, you can enjoy an elephant back safari or nature walk through the tall elephant grass that is the home of the rare and endangered One Horned Rhinoceros. In the evening, enjoy cultural programs conducted by Tharu, community of Terai. You stay overnight at camp or lodge. 

Day 03:

In Chitwan at National Park, you enjoy a full day of Wild-Life Safari activities such as: Elephant back safari, Nature walks, Canoe trip or boat ride, Jeep drive in the Deep forest, Elephant bathing, bird watching, Tharu Village tour etc. as per time permits. Trained local naturalists and guides will guide all to you. Animals and birds to be seen are rhinoceros, crocodiles, bear, monkeys, several species of deer, pythons, peacocks, hornbills, woodpeckers (amongst more than 400 species of birds recorded in the park).

 

Day 04: 

After breakfast you will be taken to your other destination.
